STABLES HOGS SOFTBALL
ANNUAL REPORT TO THE OWNER
As
I'm sure you're already aware, 1990 was a banner year for the HOGS. Although we
may have lost 18 games, performance on the field was never our specialty.
Performance at the Stables is where we excel and we were never better than in
1990. Bar attendance reached record levels, both for players and fans. Bar
attendance for players was up an astonishing 28%, and bar attendance for fans
was up an even more astonishing 33%. The Hogs delivered an average of nearly 17
drinkers to the Stables after every game, for a total of 492 bar appearances
during the 1990 season. Our sister team, the Outlaws, would take five years to
reach these totals. Of course it's no accident that other Y-League teams are now
flocking to the Stables. They want to see why the Hogs are so bad, yet so happy.
And we also know what makes the owner happy, bar receipts. Our record bar
appearance totals are summarized below.

What
would account for the amazing increase in bar attendance? I considered all the
possible variables such as better ambiance, better food, better looking female
customers, winning, and getting more free pitchers of beer (1990 total - 0). I
dismissed all these factors for obvious reasons. After extensive analysis
illustrated by the attached graph, I have concluded that new team jerseys were
the pivotal factor.
As
we prepare to make our annual run at the City Series in this our twelfth season,
please insure that the HOGS will be looking good in 1991 by providing the team
jerseys specified below. You know we'll make you a proud owner.
