Why would anybody want to pay money to watch a bunch of amateur, eurofag, Al-Queda sympathizers? You can also count on an Obama led luxury tax on tickets for events like this, on country club dues, rounds of golf at public courses and all the other stuff people who work at McDonalds or Burger King don't spend their money on. Of course he will raise minimum wages so that those folks make more than college grads.
Sorry for the rant......still pissed off that he won.
Best to all for the New Year. Sly
How can you possibly be down on our incoming administration. Zip and I are sitting here reading about all the good things to come in USA today. Just a few morsels of hope for you to savor before we start to experience "Change".
Joe Biden on the Stimulus Package - "We will spend what we need to turn this economy around, and no more! Every dollar will be watched to be sure it's used in an effective manner. There will be no waste in the legislation aimed at stimulating the economy."
President Elect Barack Obama - "There will be no wasteful spending in the economic stimulus bill headed to congress next month."
Even a cold hearted capitalist like yourself has got to be moved to open up your wallet to fund such honest and worthy endeavors. One look at all the worthy groups lined up to slurp the kola from the stimulus trough should help you see the wisdom of our new leaders and give you confidence there will be no waste.
The National Governors Association - $136 Billion for infrastructure projects.
The US Conference of Mayors - $180 Billion to make up for deficit spending
Environmental Groups including the Natural Resources Defense Council - $200 Billion for "Green Jobs"
Auto Industry - $125 Billion over the next three years to fund their pension funds and retool
Banking Industry - $700 Billion to buy mortgages and bad debt for houses and other assets worth $225 Billion
Retail Industry - $100 Billion to provide tax free retail holidays
Airline Industry - $150 Billion to avoid raising the baggage fees to from $25/Bag to $50/bag
Surely a Harvard MBA can see the wisdom in reaching out and giving a helping hand to those in need. How could you possibly not consider providing The American Apparel & Footwear Association with a measly $5 Billion to reduce shoe tariffs. How the fuck can O.J. ever buy another pair of Bruno Magli's without your help?
History has shown that everything must go full circle. We spend the last century defeating communism. Now we have a chance to nationalize our entire economy, redistribute all our national wealth equally and assure that no one can ever fail. Karl Marx would be proud. Now we can give those Russian cocksuckers a chance to return the favor and drive us into the scrap heap of history. As I type, Federal Reserve secret agent Binky is plotting with the Eurofag Central Bank to have them follow our strategy. Last I heard, he was busy trying to conjure up some lame excuse to invade Poland.
You know the old adage: If you are going to get raped, you might as well just lay back and enjoy it. Well my friend, we are all about to get fucked up the ass and be asked to pay for the privilege. If I were you, I would go get yourself a large tube of Vaseline, lather up your ass and enjoy the ride.
Best of the New Year to you.
Just don't get drunk, strip naked and run around your neighborhood until the police arrest you again. I suspect you will be pressed to pull off a successful escape a second time.
I also question why Sly is so concerned about the new Administration. The President –elect (notice I didn’t say “Our” president –elect) has a strong group of friends from whom he can form his various teams (for the occasions when he comes out of the gym). Obviously, as you see below, they have much experience and have shown the ability to attain heights previously unknown to us mortal Americans.
Who Runs it?
221 killed in Iraq
And he's going to '"fix" Washington politics for us?
Happy New Year to all from the rainy Northwest.
Couldn't stand on the sidelines entirely as I read the erudite commentaries on OUR new President-Elect. You guys all had a restrained rant compared to Cyndi's who is to the right of most Goldwater Republicans. But how can you attack the poor fellow who was a US Senator for about 100 days before he started running for President? Let's give him a chance, eh? NO? Cyndi wouldn't either.
Actually, after attending Oregon's "Business PLanning" conference a few weeks ago, I thought I had inadvertantly moved to Massachusetts. Seems Governor Kulongowski (D) wants to eliminate the so-called "kicker" that requires OR to refund higher than defined threshold taxes to those that paid them. He wants to keep those overpayments so he can distribute the money in a more "efficient and compassionate" way. Also, we heard him say that in the face of the recession and reduced state revenues, he had no intention of reducing any state services. Since I am closer to retirement now, perhaps I should welcome this snce I will soon become more of an entitled citizen than producer.
