I
also question why Sly is so concerned about the new
Administration. The President –elect (notice I didn’t
say “Our” president –elect) has a strong group of
friends from whom he can form his various teams (for the
occasions when he comes out of the gym). Obviously, as
you see below, they have much experience and have shown
the ability to attain heights previously unknown to us
mortal Americans.

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago .
Body count in the last six months: 292 killed
(murdered) in Chicago
221 killed in Iraq
State pension fund - $44
Billion in debt,
worst in the country.
Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax - 10.25% highest in
country. (Look it up).
Chicago school system - rated one of the worst in the
country.
Of course, they're all blaming each other. They can't
blame Republicans because there aren't any.
This is the political culture that Obama comes from in
Illinois .
And he's going to '"fix" Washington politics for us?
Good luck and may God help us.
Happy
New Year to all from the rainy Northwest.
Couldn't stand
on the sidelines entirely as I read the erudite
commentaries on OUR new President-Elect. You guys
all had a restrained rant compared to Cyndi's who is
to the right of most Goldwater Republicans. But how
can you attack the poor fellow who was a US Senator
for about 100 days before he started running for
President? Let's give him a chance, eh? NO? Cyndi
wouldn't either.
Actually,
after attending Oregon's "Business PLanning"
conference a few weeks ago, I thought I had
inadvertantly moved to Massachusetts. Seems
Governor Kulongowski (D) wants to eliminate the
so-called "kicker" that requires OR to refund higher
than defined threshold taxes to those that paid
them. He wants to keep those overpayments so he can
distribute the money in a more "efficient and
compassionate" way. Also, we heard him say that in
the face of the recession and reduced state
revenues, he had no intention of reducing any state
services. Since I am closer to retirement now,
perhaps I should welcome this snce I will soon
become more of an entitled citizen than producer.
Best
regards,
Al
